Sensed is Enactus UWA’s newest project.
Our mission is to create an impact by producing a socially, environmentally and economically sustainable alternative therapy for those suffering from dementia.
Specifically, Sensed aims to produce fidget blankets made out of recycled materials that will ultimately be given to individuals suffering from dementia. These blankets contribute to preventing the escalation of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia that are often treated with anti-psychotic medication. In particular, these blankets are especially likely to assist people in low socio-economic areas.
With our partnerships with schools and recyclable material centres, we aim to educate the next generation on current topics like textile waste, dementia, and social entrepreneurship.
Sensed was created by the community, for the community.
